For the last seven years, hundreds of local residents and officials gathered each spring to “Walk A Mile In Her Shoes,” in support of the Center for Family Justice.
But this year’s walk — the eighth annual — will be held virtually as the state continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The yearly event supports the Bridgeport-based center that supports area survivors of domestic abuse.
There are already many teams signed up for this year’s virtual walk.
The funds raised will support Camp HOPE America – Bridgeport, a summer camp program through the center that helps youth survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
Visit the website set up for the walk to register, donate or learn more.
