“Pathways to Hope for Children [an Affiliate of Camp HOPE America] has adopted the Hope Theory, a method of increasing hope and fostering resilience in people. The organization in 2013 began working with Chan Hellman, a professor of psychology at the University of Oklahoma School of Social Work and founding director of the Hope Research Center.

“The organization implemented the theory beginning with Camp HOPE America, a week-long evidence-based mentoring program focusing on children and teens exposed to abuse and domestic violence. “From there, administrators began to train teachers, counselors and school leaders on the theory, Hall said.”
