    Ex-North Berwick Man Sentenced to 9 years for Assaulting Girlfriend

    ALFRED, MAINE – Lee Perry, 47, was convicted of seven domestic violence-related charges after a trial in May in York County Superior Court in Alfred.
    Lee Perry, 47, was convicted of seven domestic violence-related charges after a four-day jury trial in May. The charges include three counts of aggravated assault, a Class B felony, for beating the woman, choking her, breaking her wrist and cutting her with a knife, according to the York County District Attorney’s Office.
    Justice Wayne Douglas sentenced Perry to a total of 14 years, with nine years to serve and five years to remain suspended while he serves a four-year probation term after his release.
    In addition to the aggravated assault counts, Perry was convicted by the jury of one count of domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, one count of domestic violence assault, one count of domestic violence with a dangerous weapon and one count of domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
